Passed unanimously by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on 3 September 2026; Presidential assent announced on 25 October 2026.
CM Neiphiu Rio called it a key step towards the aspirations of the people of Eastern Nagaland and thanked the Union Home Ministry.
The authority is meant to give a separate territorial arrangement for the eastern districts of the State.
Static GK: Article 371A gives special provisions for Nagaland; Nagaland became a State on 1 December 1963.

मुख्यमंत्री नेफ्यू रियो ने इसे पूर्वी नागालैंड के लोगों की आकांक्षाओं की दिशा में अहम कदम बताया और केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय का आभार जताया।
यह प्राधिकरण राज्य के पूर्वी ज़िलों के लिए अलग क्षेत्रीय व्यवस्था देने हेतु है।
स्थैतिक GK: अनुच्छेद 371A नागालैंड के लिए विशेष प्रावधान करता है; नागालैंड 1 दिसंबर 1963 को राज्य बना।
