Announced by the High Commission of India in Malé on 16 October 2026.
The arrangement is between the RBI and the Maldives Monetary Authority.
Since 2012 the RBI has provided over US$1.1 billion in swap support to the Maldives.
India also holds Maldivian treasury bonds and bills as budget support.
