The affidavit was filed by Deputy Election Commissioner Bhanu Prakash Yeturu, seeking dismissal of petitions against CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
The EC cited Article 324(5): the CEC can be removed only in the manner and on the grounds of a Supreme Court judge.
It denied changing Form 6 and said a newspaper report is not evidence of facts.
A bench headed by CJI Surya Kant was to hear the petitions.

मुख्य न्यायाधीश सूर्यकांत की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई करने वाली थी।
